Miramar Bottoms in Venus
Miramar Bottoms in Venus
Inspired by my first wave. Nostalgia. The feeling of coming come. Knowing the way water moves like the back of your hand. The act of remembering through movement.
Wherever or whenever you were born, you’ll appreciate the versatility of these foldable bottoms. 80’s high or Y2K low, the foldable top of our high waisted bikini bottom lets you surf comfortably or tan it all.
Our double-layered, super-soft stretchy fabric creates the perfect thickness to hide what’s below. Lined with elastic all around to keep it on in the waves. These high-waisted bottoms aren’t just for moms or on your moon. Meet your new favorite bikini.
On the sea in Santa Barbara, I drafted & cut the paper pattern for these new bottoms from my humble boat home. Up the mountain, my mom sewed the first sample. And, we nailed it:) I have to say, as a short, athletic build, I never believed a high-waisted bikini bottom could be flattering. The way they truncated my torso making me look shorter & wider, the bottom riding up my bum or hanging low like diaper - Not a fan. So I altered the curves to elongate the body & found a middle ground between a cheeky bum & moderate coverage. Voila. Flattering. Comfortable. Multi-Functional.
FITTING TIPS
1. It’s tough to tell the front from back. The scoop waistband side goes in the back & the straight waistband side goes in the front.
2. Once you put ‘em on, pull your wedgie out & down, removing any excess fabric from gathering at your lower back. Then in the front, starting at the crotch, pull that excess fabric forward. Then pull the waistband higher towards your belly button. This will elongate your legs:)
CARE
*Prints WILL Fade slightly after first washing*
due to the nature of the local printing method we use.
We are still excitedly innovating this biodegradable fabric & appreciate your support for the cause!
Still, we think you’ll love the vintage look:) Follow the Care Instructions on the back of the label sewn into your garment: Hand wash gently, rinse with cold water & hang dry out of direct sun.
FABRIC
85% Biodegradable Polyamide 15% Spandex
Oeko-Tex Standard 100
Meet the first biodegradable polyamide yarn in the world!
Polyamide (also known as Nylon in the US) is quite obviously the best fabric for Swim & Activewear. Unfortunately, it is plastic. A manmade polymer manufactured through a chemical process that takes decades to decompose.
This fabric takes approximately 3 years to be eliminated from the planet.
Don’t worry, the decomposition process only starts when the garment is in the anaerobic environment of a landfill:)
